Will they peck the baby too much? Should we keep baby in the house, or leave chick with broody chicken and her buddy? What is the best way to deal with introducing baby to broody hen and buddy? Helpppp?

Is your broody mama very protective of the chick? How old is the chick? I'd be cautious because there is only one chick, and more likely to be bullied or picked on. If there were several chicks it would have a better chance.

She is a day old chick, and the Broody one is still sitting on her nest... Not quite as protective as I had hoped. What should we watch for and should we get another chick to accompany the little one?

The big issue is space. Do you have enough space for the broody hen to stay between the chicks and the layers? Is there obstacles in the run, or hiding places. For a chick, even a piece of tubing or a box set kitty corner in the corner of a run will help.

If you get additional chicks immediately, as within 24 hours of the chicks hatching, and they have to be newly hatched chicks.... but do remember chicks grow and quickly take up a great deal of space.

Just place the chicks on her back, and they will slide down under her.
