Introducing birds to a new flock PICS ADDED!!!

I would suggest reading and reading and reading. Not so many questions as they will be answered from all the reading!!! This forum has a wealth of knowledge. Start at page one and read anything and everything that catches your attention! If you have a question, use the search box in the main toolbar at the top of the page. I RARELY dont find the answer i need by doing a search.

The only way for a pheasant to enter a new enviorment with tons of screaming people is to drug it. Almost any animal will go boinkers if you take it to the fair. I have had one bird not get scared at a fair, and that was a chicken.

your missing everyones advise here, what is best, is not to do it to them at all. There's half a dozen threads on here with folks all advising you not to do this, this is hands on experience with these talking. For the well being of the birds, I advise you highly to take folks advise on this fair idea, it's not going to end pretty

Sometime no matter how many times you tell someone something they find a way to re-word the question and ask it again.
Some people never learn!

Having shown my golden pheasants at 4h fairs for years i'm just gonna say its a terrible idea. It stresses the pheasant, they get hurt, scared and poultry diseases. I have had mine in a 10x5 aviary that a landscaped with tons of hide and cover, and they still do not handle it well. and i have very tame pheasants. If their in a cage then the risk of them getting injured or dieing increases 10 fold. for the sake of the pheasants do not do this, if you want to show something get chickens. Pheasants are not show birds.

well said, bobwhite your going to wind up killing your birds i dont like to say never with birds but in this case i feel good about it you will never get a pheasant tame enough to hold or create and be calm it simple is not their nature 95 told his story please learn from it . and if for nothing else look at the well being of your birds and do whats best for them even if showing them dont kill them the stress will shortin their life span please dont do it please for the sake of your birds i dont want to discourage you from pheasant but if showing them is all you care about you need to find somthing else to show and forget pheasant unless your not going to show them ,me and the others cant stress this enough and you dont seem to care!!! your going to be dissappointed with them and loose the birds. thats all i can say

They are game birds not domesticated birds. They can be tame one second and bouncing off the walls the next. Please take everyones advise and enjoy them in your yard. It's not worth the 10.00 first prize you get to kill or damage your bird.
We really need to talk to your teacher so we can get her to teach you to read post, not just keep asking the same questions.
