My cat has had two liters of kittens before both of which were given new loving homes. My cat is a very affectionate cat and since I’m not at home all day I wanted to get her a new friend. Fortunately, my neighbours cat had kittens about a month ago and I was going to get one of them. Do you think the cat will take to the kitten and look after it?

maybe maybe not. cats aren't pack animals and won't necessarily want another animal around. Then again, she might. Some cats adore having a younger playmate. Some detest having another cat anywhere in the house, let alone a "playmate"

However, both cats will likely spend the majority of the time that you are gone sleeping anyway. The rule of thumb is "never get a pet as a companion for your pet, get one as a companion for you" That is because there is always a chance, even in animals that do best in groups, that the new addition won't be accepted. In that case, you may have to keep them separated for life.
