Hello all.....
I have a dozen 5 week-old female chicks (RIR, Buff Orp, and Cuckoo Maran). They currently live in a grower house I converted from an old shed, but I plan to eventually introduce them into the coop with my existing flock of older hens (7 Araucanas, 1 RIR) and a rooster. This is the first time I have added new chickens to a flock, and have read mixed advice about how, when, (or even if) this should be done. I fully expect this process to ruffle some feathers (pardon the pun) but was hoping to get through it with minimal problems. Was wondering if anyone has had success mixing or introducing new birds. Any advice is appreciated.
