Introducing different breed to Orpingtons

Hi Everyone! I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but if it's not, hopefully I'll get moved to where it is. I currently have a small flock of Lavender Orpingtons, and this year we are adding a significant amount more of birds, by building a new coop. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about what breed(s) would coexist well. Thanks in advance!

Most breeds can get along with other breeds. I keep my bantam separated from my large breeds, and some game breeds can be aggressive. Most egg layers and dual purpose breeds should be fine.

Certain breeds don't do well when confined or crowded, so avoid Rhode island reds, Wyandotte, and some Americana, if your set up is smaller, those are the breeds I read have troubles, mine do fine but I have lots of room.

Thanks for the advice oldhen! We ended up getting mostly orpingtons, some welsummers, and a few cuckoo marans. They are about the same size fully grown, and are all cold hardy, so hopefully they will like each other! Now to read up on introducing the new girls!
