Hello,
I found myself in a situation where I rescued two Muscovy ducklings. I have six 5 week old chicks. One of my ducklings died today :( I am wanting to integrate the last duckling with the chicks, to teach it how to eat and drink because it doesn't seem to grasp the idea.
(I'm not 100% sure why the first duckling died, but possibly due to lack of eating/drinking.)
My concern is the chicks will be mean to the duckling, or vice versa or if the size difference will matter-the ducklings are only 3-4 days old, or if they have any diseases they can pass to each other.
Currently my chicks are afraid of the duckling.

If anyone has had experience with this or can give me their two cents I would be so grateful also if you have any tips to get my baby duck to start eating more...
THANK YOU!!!

I'd probably pick a couple of the mellowest chicks to put with the duckling. I would't worry to much about the size difference. Ducks grow significantly faster than chickens. My 8 week old ducks are fully grown, or very close to it.

Make sure there is water for the duck to dip it head. Be warned, ducks are 10x more messy than chicks!

I'm guessing they are wild, they showed up in my garden
Muscovy or Mallards?

Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!
