Introducing ducklings to young ducks

Thanks for the reply. I had three duck for a year 2 female pekin and a drake and never had problems with them they were a perfect 3 sum but 2 months ago killed by someone's dogs. So we pick up to from a farm and ordered two from metzer so this is new to me.

And that's why there is BYC!! Any activity that involves high pitched chirping and then fast running away from the duckling, is usually a sign someone has been a bit aggressive. You'll know it as soon as you see it. As long as you're close, you shouldn't have too much to worry about.

It went soooo good one of my ducks could care less the other dug with the little guys and checked them out gently . Thank you two for your help it was awsome

We have 2 female pekin and 1 male pekin. 1 of the females started laying eggs and laying on them. They just hatched over the weekend and we are not sure if we should remove the other female and male or leave them be. We had 10 hatch and are also worried there may not be enough room for them comfortably since we have seen the male step on the ducklings and not have a care in the world. He does seem to try to protect them when the dogs get close to their fence but he always seems to step on them. The mama is very protective so we do not want to upset her however we don't want to find dead ducklings. We have another space we can move them to but should we move just the female and male? Will moving the ducklings and mama cause too much upset for the mama?

We were not prepared for these ducklings as we didn't think they would really hatch... especially 10 of them!

I wish I could give you some advice but I have no idea what would be best for mama and babies. you should start a new thread because many more people will see it and you will get good advice
