We received two new babies to add to our flock on Friday the 2nd. They are both Saxony hens and will be joining our two Silver Appleyard hens who are just over three months old. So far these babies seem much more mellow than our SAs were at this age. They love cuddling up with us and snoozing while being held. They also don’t seem distressed when separated, unlike Strawberry and Waffles at that age (and currently). I realize this could change but so far they’ve been incredibly sweet and cuddly!
Also included is a pic of our big girls. Side note / we had a hawk swoop down on our SAs today while they were on our patio, it scared us all so bad! I immediately put them in their run. I was really hoping they could have freedom to roam when we are home and in and out throughout the day but now I’m not so sure. Usually if the ducks are out at least one of our dogs is out too but today they were out alone and we nearly had a tragedy.
