I gave two year old Delaware white hens to my friends to build their flock. They stay in hiding all day and will not eat unless my neighbor stays in the coop. After a month they still won't come out into the open. The other two hens do pick on them, but mine have always been bossy. They haven't laid in a month!

How were they introduced?
The hens were put in the coop at night and put in their own house to sleep in. They stay between the house and the fence all day even though they are blocked out from staying wedged in there. Only their butts stay out to the elements.

That wasn't a great idea.
Here's the best method.

They most likely won't lay until spring, since they've gone through alot of stress.
