Introducing Lone Hen to Lone Hen

Hello,

My silkies are going as hubby isn't keen on them, plus I have too many right now. We are keeping Molly the Buff Orp and getting her another Orp as company (maybe two but no more).

Is it easier to introduce a lone young hen to another lone young hen? Molly is about 3 months old ... How do you guys go about intros?

If they're about the same size, it should be OK - hens are social creatures, they love company. They need to have someone else to hear them brag!

I did it recently by isolating the newcomer where they could talk but not touch for a week first. They have done ok. Assume you will quarantine first?
