Introducing my dominant rooster back to the flock with other roosters after being isolated from an injury

How did you keep him in view the whole time!

That is NOT what I would have expected. As RR says, they are animals and who knows how they will react.
I am certainly learning as I go. I put him in a large dog crate for the first week inside my porch. Once his back started scabbing, I moved him outside where they feed and roost. I kept him protected from weather. They ate together but he had to roost in his crate. They hung out around him most of the day. They younger roosters are his sons. They tried in the beginning to attack him. As he healed, they lost interest in wanting to attack him. It was a gamble for sure letting him out!

Yes I have had chickens for 10 years now but never had to reintroduce my older chickens seems to be more challenging because she wants her pecking order back and its winter so they don't get out all the time. Today if the rain stops then will put her in crate outside then let her out and see what happens my concern is she will go back in coop and get attacked again but I guess I could rescue again or squirt them with a water bottle. So will see here

Update put chickens outside no rain today and snow has melted more. My 5 year old is laying eggs now without anymore problems. She was in the house for 2 weeks to recover now she's been in coop run in kennel for almost 3 weeks now. Put them out today in the yard and finally no extreme fighting just some normal sparring so will be doing this for another two weeks before in the coop.

My rooster did not try to get his pecking order back. He is hanging with them but staying clear of his sons. He needs to gain weight and get pretty again. He is sleeping near them not with them.

Finally all weekend since Thursday the weather got warmer snow melt and I could get them outside they did remarkably well they worked on their pecking order and did great and tonight she decided she was going to bed in coop the other 5 year old hung out with her pushed her up against the wall but no pecking and all are in bed I have 9 chickens. So total of a month with healing up from being egg bound and integration she is also laying eggs just fine

That is great! I think staying visible to the others makes a big difference.
