Hi!
My name is Julie Samuelson-Coleman and our family lives in the Central Coast of California.
We have 9 chickens. All hatched mid-late March of this year.
It started when I got a call from a local person that knew we helped with animal rescue (mostly orphaned kittens for our local non profit) this person had a young chick (a Road Island Red Pullet) that she had purchased from a hardware store. The chick was not doing well and was falling over. I agreed to take the chick and nurse it back to health. Success. Chicken was dehydrated. THEN..."Dixie" needed friends.
Thousands of dollars and a few months later we have two Road Island Reds, A barred Rock, two Bantam Silkies -a blue and a Partridge- a Buff Orpington, A black Autralorp, a Silver-Laced Wyandotte and a Light Aracauna? The last two are questionable as to the Hen Vs. Rooster. We have a great Garden Fortress complete with three coops and a large run and organic raised bed garden beds.
WE LOVE THEM!!!!!
