Two years ago for my 80th, my kids gave me 3 beautiful buff orpingtons (but a raccoon got one last year). This year I added four Russian Orloffs. They were the cutest babies at the feed store, but I was quite surprised at what they look like now! I'm learning as I go along.
I really enjoy watching them all run about the yard, and am I love their personalities. My golden girls are Blanche and Rose (r.i.p. Dorothy). I named the babies Blondie, Myrtle, Matilda and Brown-hilda, but I usually can't tell them apart - except when I let them out to play, Brown-hilda can never find the door.
My dogs are Ginger, a 16-year-old deaf almost blind terrier, and Leroy, a loveable 5-year-old mutt. I also have a swimming pool full of tilapia, so the grand-kids and great-grand-kids can fish to their hearts' content.
