Hey all,

I am fairly new to chickens, it’s been a year now. Started with some barred rock hens, I had a couple silkies that were sweet and a Breda Fowl Cock that was plotting to kill me and my 3 year old twins, so he’s gone. Lol (gorgeous Roo though)

now I have a serious chicken addiction. 5 Isabel cuckoo Orpingtons 2 week old, 8 ameraucana 4 week old, 2 olive egger 7 week old. I also have a rainbow in my bator ready to hatch in 10 days 😂. In the bator I have chocolate/mauve, BBS ameraucanas, BCM and Swedish hederoma’s (I sure hope I get a decent hatch on these beauties)

I am raising chickens mainly as pets, eggs are bonus, but my kids are absolutely loving learning all about how hatching chicks works and getting to hand raise these babes.

very excited to learn some stuff from all ya pros 😊 we live in BC Canada

I'm cooking done quail eggs right now. The days are taking forever.
Oh gosh. My last two batches took between 22-24 days. I had humidity, low temp issues. It was a nail bitter, but ended up with good hatch rate, they were just so late. This one I’m being extra careful on temp and humidity, hoping for a regular hatch. The wait is so much worse then I expected lol
