I am very new to chickens!!! I'm currently raising some (almost) three week chicks!!! Currently I have 6 chicks (2 Rhode Island Reds & 4 Barred Rocks) though I will only be keeping 4 pullets when they are fully grown (the other two will go to my brother's farm in the making). I'm super stoked over the idea of being able to collect my own eggs and have a healthier lifestyle between fresh eggs and fresh veggies and herbs from my garden. Already I'm in love with the chickies and am amazed how bold each of their personalities are and I'm enjoying watching them grow.
Some of my other hobbies include reading, writing, gardening, crocheting, knitting, crafting in general, baking, cooking, and drawing. I'm an adult in college and share a house with my parents who are also super stoked about the chickens! I'm currently enrolled in an online university taking Medical Coding & Billing and it takes up a lot of my time and my chickies, dog Rylee (blue heeler/plott hound mix), outdoor kitty Tommy, and my garden take up the rest of it!
I found BYC through my research I was doing pre getting the chicks and I keep finding myself coming back here to reference forums when I have questions so I thought it was time I joined!
