I've had chickens almost my whole life. When I was little, my parents took care of them, but now I'm making the flock my own and doing it all.
At the moment, I have somewhere around 25 chickens in my main flock (my babies), some banty mixes, and a handful of roosters. My girls are a pretty good mix of actual breeds and BYM. The ones I know are cream legbar, golden laced wyandotte, golden comet, silkies, Dutch bantam, and ameraucana.
I guess my favorite aspect of owning my feathered children is visiting my girls, bringing in a basket of rainbow eggs, and watching my flock come running when I call them, because I accidentally trained them to do that.
When I'm not with my chickens, I'm a clog dancer of 13+ years and an assistant clogging instructor of about 2+ years. I also read. A lot.

Also, here is my rooster Dopey and his lil friend Alice.

Nice looking GLW rooster! GLW are awesome birds! 😊
He’s very special. We saved each others lives a year ago. He was a chick in the brooder, I heard him screaming. He was wet and cold, shivering in the night. I dried him up and he snuggled with me as a thank you. The plug at the wall from the heat plate, was frayed somehow? Mice possibly? Anyway that roo stopped a fire from burning down my house, and saved my life.
He’s my special buddy.
