Hi everyone. Great site here. My name is Mike and I live in Orange county CA. I have been exploring this site and lurking while building a chicken coop the past few weeks. I have had a small flock of egg layers in the past but after a few years complaints from my tract home neighbors made it no fun so I quit.
Now I have 3 acres in a chicken friendly equestrian community. The chicken bug re-emerged this winter. I miss the birds, eggs and great fertilizer for the veggies. So here I go. My coupe and run are modest, about 100 square feet and 6' high. Plan on egg layers with possible dual use down the road. For now I have four 8 week old ISA browns. Will add a couple of wheaton Marans, a couple of easter eggers and possibly one Marans roo. Then I think I am full up. If anyone near me has Marans or easter egger hens available please feel free to contact me.
