Introducing myself

Thanks for the great welcome!

My username is just tkathleen for "Tara Kathleen", which is my name, Schultz. I do know the babies would be sterile, PrinceSandwich, but I'm kind of hoping for NO babies anyway, since we don't have a ton of space and I'm pretty sure we're not actually zoned for poultry, although I know lots of others who have ducks and/or chickens.

Any advice on having new Muscovies with my two guys would be welcome, anyone. Thanks!

Los Alamos does get pretty cold so watch for frost bite if you get Scovies. My Scovies don't do well in temps below 20 and DEFINITELY don't like the snow or ice. Be sure to have a place for them to get out of the weather and off the snow & ice or Scovy feet will get frost bite. The girls will also want to roost, most likely, so if you can provide them a shelf or roost that will make them happy. Also, Scovy girls are super broodies & great moms AND very good at hiding their nesting sites.

That's interesting. Does that also mean the babies wouldn't lay eggs? Or just infertile ones?

Now I'm wondering...do mules have a physical gender? (either actual mules or duck-mules)

Weeeeeeird. :hmm
