Introducing new adult ducks

My sweet Rouen passed away yesterday and now I only have one duck. I have a six month old Blue Swedish who just started laying Saturday. It’s only been about 12 hours since her sister passed and so far she’s still acting fine, foraging and chasing butterflies.

My question is, how do I introduce a new duck? I’ve read somewhere that Blue Swedish don’t like new additions to their flock and can be mean and can maybe kill a new duck, which worries me a lot. My Blue Swedish is already kind of a loner, she doesn’t play with the dogs and was the leader out of her and her sister. I love being able to have ducks and I don’t want to rehome her, but I also know that if she stays by herself than she will get lonely and possibly depressed and will stop eating. I need an idea on how to introduce new ducks, if they should be a specific breed? I know the new duck should be an adult. Thank you in advance.

Sorry about your loss
I have found doing a see no touch works best
Chicken wore fence between them
Then when you do introduce in person make sure you are there
Providing treats is a good way
I have Swedish and mine are chill with any new ducks I bring in

Hello. I would like to knownif tgebsweedish blues are aggressive as well. I have 2 Swedish blues, one male and one female. I also have 2 male domestic duck, and 1 female duck.well actually I have 2 female domestics for Busch is a female. She was injured by a weassal back in march and have had her in the house ever since to heal her up. I'm afraid she's going to get depressed being by herself. She knows about the other ducks, and is very interested to say the least

I would just be worried about your male to female ratio. Have you had any issues so far? How old are they? My first small flock was 50-50 and it worked well the first year or so of their lives only.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been on this site, but anyways the ducks are doing well. I have 2 Swedish blues, and 3 white domestic ducks. They are all almost a year old, one of the white domestic ducks was injured back in march of last year and I’m actually surprised as to how well she has come thru. She’s pretty much healed up, but unfortunately I haven’t let her join the rest of the ducks. I think I’m going to keep her in her own little room until this spring, in which I’ll be able to get a bigger area for the ducks to all join together outside.
