introducing new chickens

I have some ten week old RIR's would there be a problem introducing one year old barred rocks?

I have nine RIR'S and thinking on adding five barred rocks.

As long As you just watch them and make sure things don't get too far out of hand, they sould be just fine for introduction...if you can let them free range that would be great because it will give them more space but if you can't free range just make sure you provide a safe place that the chicks can get to but not the hens....expect squabbles...but don't get in the way of the pecking order, it will end faster...it will take about 1or 2 weeks for things to get straightened out Hope this helps!!!

Thanks I'll do that. The person that I'm getting the rocks has some chickens at the same age as mine. We will see how they do with them first.
