introducing new chicks to adult hens

I have 6 white rock hens and just ordered 10 new chicks to add to my flock. Is it safe to add new chicks to my flock? I am thinking of letting the new chicks grow for about a month and then introducing them to the flock. Is this a good idea or am I about to make a mistake. I will be recieving the new chicks about april 8th and am thinking of mixing the mature chickens and chicks in May...What do you think?

You'll probably want to grow them for quite a bit longer than a month though...14 weeks or so...until they are close in size to your current hens.

I don't put young ones with older ones until they are at least 16 weeks... and then I monitor closely for the first few days.
