Introducing new silkie

Hi Everyone,

One of our 2 little silkie sisters (the dominant one) died last week of unknown causes. Very sad. The other hen is fit and healthy (as confirmed by the vet), but looking a little lost and lonely. Just wondering if there are any special considerations for introducing a new companion. Given it will be a 1 on 1 situation, is there likely to be any bullying? Thanks!

As long as it's another silkie or gentle breed it should go easy. You may want to initially separate by a fence after the initial quarantine, so they become familiar with each other before letting them mingle under supervision.
