Introducing puppy to chickens

Hello all. We are bringing home an 8 week old Great Pyrannes on Saturday. Looking for tips/ideas on how to introduce her to the chickens. We have 5 free range chickens. This is a family pet, not necessarily to be trained as a livestock guardian dog. I know they are LGD however I’m not looking to necessarily train her for that. I don’t want her to injure/kill the chickens.

This is how we introduced our new puppy (I genuinely don’t remember how we trained our LSGs). We got this puppy back in April (he’s roughly 15 weeks) and it’s crucial that he plays nice. We take him on short visits down to the barn where he can see everything. We usually have him on a leash but we let him go since he’s good about sticking close by. He’s actually pretty cautious but sometimes likes to chase. This is bad. Do not let them chase because this can lead to accidental injury to the birds. Firmly tell them NO and stop them immediately. If they do not listen then be more firm. With our first dog many years ago, we had to be much more careful as he was a rescue and saw the chickens as a quick and easy snack. However after establishing ownership “Buddie these are MY chickens” he chilled out and I could let him out without issue. It’s honestly a trial and error phase as each pup is different.
