Oh, those ducks sure do like their pools, don't they!?!?!
My Cayugas are my stealth Ninja patrol ducks. They are up all night, with short sleeps now and then, wandering the property. They only went into the coop during their early months. They stayed out later and later, and finally missed the auto door closing, and went into another coop I left open for them. They utilized the bottom, literally the ground level, as their nesting spot. Then they abandoned that coop; now they patrol, instead. And sleep more during the day.
Also, late night swims are fun things for ducks, genetically wired into waterfowl.
