Good news! I went out to let the chickens out this morning and Brutus walked straight past me with a little "bawk", like he was saying good morning. I then met them all out in the run for their morning handful of scratch and Brutus came right over to my feet and started pecking at the scratch that had landed in front of my feet. He never once looked up at me like he was going to flog me. This is a major accomplishment! I failed to mention that he pecked me in the face the other day. I was holding him to examine his wounds after the Silkie had kicked his tail and he looked straight at me and pecked me in the face! The little bugger! I grabbed his neck (gently) and packed him like a football around the yard for 45 minutes or so gently holding onto his neck the whole time so he couldn't get me again. I'm hoping that he has straightened his attitude up now. I am keeping a close eye on him to be sure, because that's a whole lot of rooster to have coming after you! I just thought him standing at my feet this morning and not offering to flog me is most definitely a big improvement.
