Hello everyone! I have a question about introducing two groups of pullets.
One group is seven weeks old and they have been together from the beginning. They have been out of the brooder and in the coop full-time for the last week. There are five of them.
I also have two pullets that are five weeks old they've met the older chicks on and off but they've never interacted with them for a long period of time.
I think I will be able to put the two younger ones in the coop full-time starting next week because it should be warm enough and they are just about fully feathered. How should I work the introduction?

a) put them in, add some distractions (like clumps of sod), watch to see how it goes. If it works, you're done.

b) if that doesn't work, put them in a cage inside the coop, or adjacent, so they can see each other through the wire. When they seem to be getting along through the wire, let them be together.

If you know you want to move them out in a week, you can be taking them out for visits in the daytime between now and then--which should make things easier.

In any case, it's a good idea to have at least 2 feed locations and at least 2 water locations, so no bully can force others to starve by guarding the food or water.

Thank you so much I'll give it a try tomorrow I really appreciate the help!
