introducing younger birds to flock

How old do new chicks need to be before introducing them to my now 4 month old chickens (13 total), we have 4 week old RIR's (6 of them)?

Good question. I am really curious about this also. Will be getting some chicks later this month to add to a flock of 1 year old chickens later in the summer.

at least old enough that they have all of their feathers and can keep warm? I think I introduced mine when they were a month old, I think? or was it 2 months old? I forget! they weren't all that terribly old though. I put them in a cage inside the coop for a week before letting them into the coop with the rest

I did let them play outside together, supervised. that was when they were a couple of weeks old and for short periods of time. it didn't go that great though.
