Last month I bought 3 Buff Orpingtons and 3 White Leghorns. Then this month I decided to buy 6 more. I have kept them separated so far, the younger ones are almost a week old. Is there a right and wrong way to introduce them to each other? Im am planning on doing this in about 2 weeks.

It's best to put them together at night whole they are sleeping. If there is over a months difference in the age you might have problems. If possible keep the little ones seperated(in a cage) where they can see each other for a few days prior to mixing them. Keep an eye on them for a bit to make sure there are no problems.

I like the sound of putting them together where they can see each other. Should I wait until they are a little older?
