Introducing...

Piper is 6 weeks old and she's almost fully feathered. Since she is an only duckling, she's had a heatplate since hatch and I believe that has slowed her feathering in significantly. I can't wait to see Cheddar in all of his feathers 😍
Oh, interesting! I didn't know that could happen. Cheddar has a heating pad.

I have no idea what he will look like (or even if he is a he). His mom is white, so who knows what genetics she is carrying. His dad is chocolate bibbed. He looks white but has 3 gray spots on his back and one around his eye. Other BYCers have said he will probably be white, but I'm not 100% sure.

I have a foldable play pen for small animals, and he likes to run in circles all around it. This duck is goofy!

Interesting development...

My chickens think Cheddar is part of their flock. I've had Cheddar in a brooder with my 2 special needs Polish chicks. The Polish girls are 7 and 8 weeks old. Whenever they lose sight of Cheddar, they get very upset. Did I accidentally bond them to this duck? Will they be ok when he joins my ducks?
🤣 🤣 🤣
