I have a brood that is 6 weeks and want to add new week old chicks. I keep reading about introducing but all I can find is 1 to 2 week old age spread. What's the best way to do this, I was getting ready to move the older ones out to the coop.

I would raise them separately. Ideally, with a see-through divider. But I've only raised one set of chicks so don't have a lot to go on. Chicks six weeks older are so much bigger and more capable that I can see why not many try integrating them. I think combining little chicks with adult hens would be easier than combining little chicks with chicks that much older.

Whenever they are combined, it helps to have lots of space and lots of clutter in the space so they can get away from the other chicks. Also several feeders and waterers, widely spaced and some out of sight of others.
