I am beginning to try colored velcro wraps. With six chocolates and five blacks, and only a couple very easy to identify (smallest chocolate, largest black), we need something.
So far the report (after a few days) is, that the straps stay on, but with the soiling, they turn a shade of brown. We used orange and red (soft side in, which is the more colorful side), so it is difficult to tell the colors apart.
However
we also have blue and green and yellow straps, which should be easier to tell apart from the rest, even as they all become shades of brown.
The two we marked had minor scratches that we treated with triple antibiotic, so it has been nice to be able to quickly pick them out from a few feet away and see that their injuries seem to have healed.
There are also plastic coil bands that can be used - I may switch to them, but I don't know how to put them on. Velcro, I understand. Plastic coily things? New stuff.
