Introduction - Chicking in Ohio

Hello and welcome to BYC!

That all depends, if they get along and aren't over mating or hurting the hens, or you for that matter, keep them both. However if one is just not working out, you may need to rehome one. 4-H is a great place to start, local poultry clubs, even Craigslist. Roosters generally are difficult to rehome, everyone wants the hens, so be careful who you give him too.

Hi - I am a professor on a farm in Ohio. Love teaching and have 11 chickens. Two roosters. My big question is do I get rid of one of the roosters? I'm going ask that in a forum. :) Steve

Hello Steve, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Whether you keep the second rooster is entirely up to the first rooster! If they get along and the senior tolerates the junior and the junior doesn't challenge the senior constantly to take the flock they can make it work.
I would say that without a lot of space where they can separate harems out into two different territories the chances are against it working out. But you just never know.
