Hello, everyone. I'm Txia (or Chia), and, around a week ago, I emergency-adopted two ducklings.

I'm new to everything related to birds (ducks, chickens, etc.), but I really want to learn how to treat them well. I... don't really know what breed they are, but their beaks are a quite curved at the end. I'll attach a photo.

Having them in my house is a little hard, not only because they weren't really in our plans, but because my family and I already have an old cat and a hyperactive Yorkie ª

Thankfully, I found out about this page from searching up how to take care of them. Though I still will need help with things I'm curious about.

I'm also looking for a veterinarian in my district so that we can resort fastly to that in case of an emergency.

As for me, I'm from South America (Peru, more specifically), and my hobbies include singing, drawing, and playing games.

Pleased to meet you all :)

PS: Sorry for the bad quality of the photo, my phone camera is kinda trashy.

Welcome to the coop! I use the Forums and Articles tabs at the top of the page to do research. You can get lost for hours. It's nice to know you are minutes away from getting help with questions and emergencies! I always check in the "What's New" section as well at the top of this page. This way I can read how I may have a similar question or help give some advice.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

You have definitely come to the right place for all the fun and learning. Oh goodness, Yorkies are SO hyper and stubborn! :D I have a Morkie...half Yorkie, half Maltese, one crazy dog.

Enjoy your Ducks, if we can be of help, we are always here. I hope you can solve the issue with the curved bills.

Welcome to our community!

Welcome to BYC, Txia, and glad to meet you. Here is an article on the care of ducks. I hope it may help you! How kind you are to care for the emergency adopted ducklings.

To look for articles on your own:

A. Use the SEARCH button, but use the Advanced Search choice, and select ARTICLES at the top of the box. Just enter your keyword(s) and scroll through your results!

B. I find it helpful to notice the rating and reviews. All articles are by BYC members, and all the reviews/ratings are as well. The ratings help a newbie like me sort the most useful and reliable articles.

C. You can bookmark the articles or posts you think you want to refer to again using that bookmark icon at the top of articles or posts. You can find them again by clicking on your own avatar and looking at the list of bookmarks you have built up!
