Hi, I am Misha. My sister and I own a home in Katahdin Valley Maine, and we live on a mountain ridge. We are disabled widows but not so disabled that we would give up on life long dream of building a self sustaining farm. I have four sons, all married, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; most of them live in southern NH. We do not yet have chickens, but we are looking into building a chicken coop and begin with laying hens, then moving on to brooders. We have four dogs, but are also looking into goats, rabbits, and a new tractor. Our land is more rocky than we had originally been told before we bought it, and the barn is off its sill; do not buy a place when there is now on the ground. But, we are growing where we are planted and one day at a time. Rebuild, tractor, plant, chickens, goats, bunnies and happiness is on its way.
