Welcome to BYC!!Hello! I am annoying my local friends with too many chicken questions and thought this might be a good place to find answers too.
I am new to chickens, I have 8 which are now 5 weeks old. They are an Easter egger, Frida; olive egger, Leonora, 2 white leghorns, Tammy & Georgia; speckled Sussex, Carmen; silver laced Wyandotte, Louise; golden laced Wyandotte, Agnes; and a barred Plymouth Rock, Cindy.
I have six more due end of may or early June- 3 each svart hona and Swedish flower hens.
I am so obsessed with watching and caring for my girls and can’t wait to get them outside in their new house and run and (supervised) free ranging!
I live in CT with my husband and two young kids, and a big Maine coon cat.
I’m an art dealer (all the hens are named after famous female artists). Cliche perhaps but I’m all about it.
I have used AI to make portraits in the style of each namesake artist as chickens and will post here if of interest to anyone…maybe too far out
Glad to be here!

Thank you so much!Hello and welcome to BYC!Glad you joined.
You're birds should be outside now. They can be raised directly in the coop with a brooder plate. With yours being 5 weeks old, I'd put them out in the coop with lots of fluffy dry bedding. If the night time temps are going to be below 50 you can put the heavily secured lamp out with them but raise it up high. They need to acclimate to normal ambient temperatures.
Very impressive! Thanks for the interest in my crazy chicken AI artworks! Attached all creations, these were made using MidJourney.
Artists my chickies are named after (and thus inspired the artworks in the style of each):
Tamara de Lempicka
Agnes Martin
Carmen Herrera
Leonora Carrington
Georgia O'Keeffe
Louise Bourgeois
Frida Kahlo
Cindy Sherman
