Take the cancelled check or get a copy from your bank and any other doccumentation you may have and file a police report. Depending on the value/price paid for the coop will determine the charge. He will most likely be arrested. I haven't had this same scenario but have had a thief who stole from me and went to jail. I hate thief's. Also you can check and see if he has a record and it's quite likely he might. Good luck...
