(1) First got chickens in 2013
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 3 - max allowed by city.
(3) What breeds do you have? Golden Sex Link
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Eggs!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Sailing
(6) Tell us about your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I'm and engineer and have a coop that is pretty automated with timers etc. I have an update to the automation that is in process and will replace all electro-mechanical controls with electronic ones within a few months. I am currently working on automated louvers that close or open or modulate depending on temperature, rain, wind velocity and possibly light or lack thereof ... we'll see on that last one.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? Searching for ideas on chicken raising. Comparing notes from other sites. Selecting the best ideas and automate them. I became a member because comments cannot be made without a membership.
