We only have a small flock of 5 pet bantams but we both love them very much. I think it is nice when a couple have an interest they can share. Hubby has his favourite gal, LuLu and is not too much into the sharing of the cleaning but enjoys his role of Chief Meal Worm Feeder

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

Thankyou everyone for making me feel at home and although my husband is the one with all the chicken knowledge I am learning
..He is taken back a little by my enthusiasm for the chickens since I got my favorite breeds and my very own..When he started raising chickens I wanted no part in it ..I told him they are his an I will not take care of them in no shape form or fashion...That lasted a whole 2 days..After that I was hooked...And I'm so very happy for it...I love not only my chickens but his also!! On top of the 3 goats we now have and the three rabbits also which one is going to give birth to I hope lotsa babies....Again thankyou everyone!!!!

Hi Dawn, it's nice to have you here!

Sorry about your rooster, will you be getting another?

Yes as soon as I can..Have a friend who has Leghorns that aren't old enough to be sexed yet so waiting until he can find out...Was wanting one sooner than that cause my girls just started laying like crazy and now it's gonna be quite sometime before I can get any fertile eggs. But I guess that's the life of having them I guess...But at least I know ones coming.
