Hello! My name is Anna. I just joined this forum because I have had questions in the past that have been answered here, so I thought I might make my own profile to ask the more specific questions I can't find answers to. Thank you for taking a gander of my page!
Intro:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am not new to chickens, but I wouldn't consider myself a "pro". I first got chickens when I was about 10 I believe and I've loved them ever since, especially because I've just recently moved onto a bigger property where I can get more chickens! The first time my family got chickens, we eventually sold them because we were living where the girls could not roam free and it got to be nearly impossible to give them the love they deserved. Now, however, we have much more space, and therefore many more chickens!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Currently, we have 16 chickens. We have recently lost some due to various, unconnected problems, but we hope to stay at this number for a while.
(3) What breeds do you have?
We make it a point to get as many different breeds of chickens as we can to explore the various temperaments, production, and beauty of chickens.
Breeds we have now:
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I'm constantly trying to learn more about my girls and this site has always shown up in Google searches, so I decided to make an account so I could ask my own questions!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am an artist, cellist, pianist, and an animal lover. I have my flock, two dogs, and a rabbit.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I think this has pretty much summed up who I am but here are some other things:

We make it a point to get as many different breeds of chickens as we can to explore the various temperaments, production, and beauty of chickens.
Breeds we have now:
- Buff Orpington (Peggy)
- Rhode Island Red (fittingly named Red)
- Easter Egger (Scout)
- Black Jersey Giant (Bean, the largest chicken in our flock yet the youngest egg-layer)
- Barnevelder (Bernadette)
- Cuckoo Maran (We have two: one with feathered feet (Danny DeVito, long story) and one without (Mable))
- What we think is a Gold Sex Link (Cleo)
- Partridge Silkie (Bea (ever-so-lovingly dubbed "Queen Bea" by my brother))
- Cream Legbar (Lucy)
- Chocolate Orpington (Cassie (short for Cadbury))
- Copper-Blue Mix Orpington (Bella)
- What we thought was a Blue-Black Splash Orpington but may actually be a Blue-Copper Mix because of her faint copper head colouring (Betty)
- Three unknown breeds of chicks (maybe a Polish Crested (Blanche Devereaux), Salmon Faverolle (Rose), and a Cochin (Dorothy)?)
- Delaware (Lucky)
- Ameraucana (may have been an Easter Egger but we never found out, named Liberty)
- Barred Plymouth Rock (Penny)
- Buff Orpington (Henrietta)
- Blue Cochin (Maggie)
- Colombian Wyandotte (dark colouring, named Java)
- Silver-Laced Polish Crested rooster (Phyllis, later turned out to be Phil)
- Partridge Cochin rooster (Chewbacca)
- Speckled Sussex (Percy)
- A fourth unknown chick who may have been some sort of mix... she came out of a blue egg, had feathered feet, and was a golden-red colour (Sophie)
- Easter Egger (Eliza)
- Easter Egger (Sophie)

I think this has pretty much summed up who I am but here are some other things:
- I am 19 years old.
- I play cello in my college orchestra.
- I plan on becoming a professional cellist and possibly getting a job where I can work closely with animals.
- My favorite chicken breeds that I know of are the Araucana, Russian Orloff, Frizzle, and Sebright bantam.
