In the Brooder
Hi! I've been a member for two years but have not been active on the community for a while. We have a "farmette" in Maryland and have 9 chickens-- mostly Cochins and Polish, all bantams. They live in a great, big chicken castle that my husband built. Our ladies hatched three peeps at the end of March and all three turned out to be roosters. We were able to give 2 away and are still trying to give away 1 more because 2 roosters are too many for our 5 ladies. Other than providing food, water, shelter, and safe grazing areas, we generally let nature take its course. Nature is amazing!
