Hi all! Here's an introduction of myself- I'm so excited to be joining this site!
Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
My family has been keeping chickens for about 7 or 8 years.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
4 hens and 7 chicks!
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have a flock of completely mixed breeds; the four hens are Black Australorp, Buff Orpington, Dark Brahma and Lakenvelder. The chicks are an Americauna, a Cochin, a Silver Laced Wyandotte, a New Hampshire Red, a Rhode Island Red and two Silkies.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Looking at breed information for silkies/hatching egg prices
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We ride horses, hike, run and eat a ton of pizza
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm actually the youngest of my family and I came here hoping to find some new information/ help with my silkies. It's the first time I've been allowed to get silkie chicks and I'm already in love with them however it's apparent right off the bat that they're different from the other chickens we've had previously. We have dogs, horses, chickens (of course), a cat and several frogs/fish.
