Introduction

Our landlord actually owns the other chickens, we are renting a house on a business property with a coop outside. I do definitely want another chick but I got this one from its mother at a young age and all of the others have already become attatched to their mother, so would it be okay to separate them? I do feel bad having the chick alone but at the same time I don't want to separate another from its mother, mine is so young that it attatched to me instead. Also, thanks for the introduction!

How did you come to have one chick from a mother chicken who is raising a brood? Did she reject it and you took it in?
Does your rooster live with your landlords chickens? Where will your chick live when it grows up? Based on what you describe it sounds like it's just one big happy family with one coop but maybe I'm wrong.

That sounds like a very unique setup!

Are you going to keep the chick a a house chicken? If it goes out with the others, it might be hard to tell which is yours
