I grew up with chickens and roosters, went on a hiatus and now am able to have a flock of my own. I started with 5 Rhode Island reds because those are the ones I remember the most. I quickly learned that I needed more chickens! Lol so I picked up a couple more because I don’t have room (yet) for much more than that. I ended up getting a columbian rock and an “ameraucana” which turns out to be an Easter Egger.
My husband, 2 young daughters and 2 old dogs live on Vancouver Island. I am lucky enough to have been able to leave my nursing job to enjoy homemaking and raising kids full time. It’s good to have a hobby that the kids can partake in.
