Hi,

I just signed up. I have had chickens for nearly five years now. I'm down to eight chickens - one rooster and seven hens. My rooster is a rescue rooster that was abandoned as a pullet on a golf course far from any agriculture. The hens are 3 to 4 and a half years old. I have a baird rock, an andalucian, a buff orpington, three wyandottes, and an Ameraucana - The rooster I have no idea but he is probably a hybrid. They free range. When I first brought home the rooster we did not know what sex as he was a scrawny pullet. We introduced him slowly and some of the hens picked on him. Now he picks on some of the hens. Not mating type picking. I can make him stop by yelling at him but when I'm not looking...
