Greetings from Iowa! We have 8 chickens that hatched on June 1, 2021. The chickens are sex-linked (4 red stars and 4 black stars). We also have 4 ducks that are 7 weeks old, which have proven to be more high maintenance than the chickens. We are hoping to get an egg any day now from our favorite chicken, Star, who started the submissive squat a few days ago. We have one daughter, and I love that she is going to be able to grow up helping taking care of animals. I've wanted chickens for quite some time and we were finally able to make that happen by buying a small piece of ground on an in town acreage this year. We have a chocolate lab who is 9 years old, and when we purchased our house, we inherited two feral cats. In the future, I hope to have a large garden where we are able to grow enough food to sell at farmer's market. I also hope to get dairy goats in the future.
