1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Brand new! We just got our first group of chicks three weeks ago!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
6!
(3) What breeds do you have?
2 Silverlaced Wyandotte, 2 Delaware, 1 White Leghorn, and 1 Black Sex Link
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Watching their personalities emerge, and seeing how they grow and change every single day!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Animal rescue (specifically involved with cat rescue!), theatre, gardening, hiking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I grew up in a farm, but it was produce and some pet sheep, we never had chickens because my dad always said they smelled
. We live in Northern MA with three fluffy cats. I work from home permanently now, so it seemed like the best time to start a new (clearly addicting!) hobby.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Since we are brand new to this, I’ve been googling a lot and this site is always popping up at the top!
