(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have ducks, got my first flock in March of 2022, and hatched my first ducklings in September 2022
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 8 full grown ducks and 5 ducklings currently.
(3) What breeds do you have?
About 50/50 Pekin and Cayuga
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love the bug control and fertilizer that my ducks provide, as well as their eggs I use in my baking.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I own a farm-to-table bakery and grow my own teas, outside of that I enjoy writing and movies.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a cat, looking to get a guardian dog in the spring, and my family is in the process of moving to where I am to build my farm dream with me.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have found myself here looking for answers about ducks when I had questions a lot, especially with duck behavior. And I finally decided to join so I could ask my own questions as well.
