I’m new to raising my own chickens but grew up helping at the farm down the street as a kid!

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
No chickens yet, currently building a desert predator proof coop.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Looking to get a few well tempered egg layers

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Free eggs and something to do in my spare time

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I crochet

I’m a stay at home mom of 2 kids and one dog

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I did a Google search on whether Brock’s were good to build a coop with and came across this group!
