(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We are still beginners i would say but we got our first small flock in 2018. We've added and kept chickens every year since then.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 3 mature hens, 1 new young rooster and 18 chicks waiting to be added to the coop.
(3) What breeds do you have? We aren't completely sure of the breeds of our chickens, unfortunately.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? We love everything about our chickens, we especially love the eggs.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? We do a garden every year and at some point in the future I would love to start incubation of our own eggs, as well as had our own personal dairy cow to the mix. I also just recently got into canning and preserving.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. my husband and i have 2 children, a 3 year old boy amd a 4 month old girl. I am a stay at home mom/wife and my husband is a septic technician, we absolutely love the homesteading life style and our goal is to teach our children to do as much for themselves as possible and attain a self sustained life style.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? I Google a question about my chickens and stumbled across BYC. I am so excited to join this community!
