Hiya, Nancy, and welcome to BYC!

Funny story...we're in our 60s and recently my hubby's sister and her husband came by for a bit on their way home from a trip. The first time they'd ever been here. When they left, I asked hubby why he didn't mention it to her that he named a chicken after her, Mary.

He said he thought she might be embarrassed that we thought of her as a chicken. I sure wouldn't be!

Welcome to the family! We enjoy trying to come up with names for some of our chickens. Our first two roosters, Barred Rocks, we named Harold and Kumar (since they seem to always have the munchies)...our next one was Eddy Murphy (since he was sometimes acting hilariously and we loved his Eddy's stand-ups shows), but the rest of the roosters, we tend to keep the names that other folks gave them (we rescue and/or accept rehome).
